Trail Rides
The Spotted Horse Ranch is home for the famous Appaloosa Horse. Bred originally by the Nez Perce Indians, the Apaloosa was found to show incredible endurance and stamina in Rocky Mountain terrain. Come ride with us and experience the thousands of acres of scenic forest lands surrounding the ranch. We ride under permit from the Forest Service. Endless trails will take you through majestic mountains, valleys of wildflowers, and along river banks accessible only by horseback. Excellent guides can help you in selecting the perfect horse for your ability. Don't forget your camera!
Trout Fishing
If you like to fish, you couldn't pick a finer location than the Spotted Horse Ranch. Fish along the banks of the Hoback, only steps away from your cabin, also practice in our trout pond or take a float trip down the Snake, Hoback, Salt, New Fork or Green River for a full day's adventure. Whether you are a novice or an expert, our experienced guides can help you bring in the big one.

The Trout School is held every Wednesday morning for learning or improving fly casting skills. Private lessons can be arranged. We practice catch and release.
Pack Trips
For Spotted Horse Ranch guests wanting to get a taste of the wilderness surrounding the ranch, overnight pack trips are available. All equipment, guides and horses are provided.

Hunting
In the fall, the Spotted Horse ranch becomes your base for hunting trips into the Bridger-Teton National forest. Two wilderness hunting camps are available for hunters looking for elk, deer and moose (Wyoming Outfitter: Big Game Kevin Watkins, License #012). Please call for permit information.
Other Ranch Activities

We have two evening cookouts each week during the summer. Our evening cookouts include live entertainment from local talent reminiscent of days gone by when voices were lifted in song around the campfire. Nothing smells better than steaks grilling in the evening followed by roasting marshmallows over an open fire. Be prepared to eat a hearty meal. Wednesday is Scenic Float trip day on the Snake River. You can enjoy a quiet scenic float down the Snake River, or a whitewater trip can be arranged for the more wild adventurer. Volleyball, ping-pong, square dancing and horseshoes are available as well.
Nearby Attractions
Both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are less than an hour away from the ranch. The town of Jackson offers an array of activities ranging from stagecoach rides and rodeos to live theater and night spots. for the shopper, Jackson hosts over 30 galleries, historical museums, and a variety of specialty shops. Jackson has two exquisite golf courses with Teton views, so don't forget your golf clubs.
